The Lake of Castillon

This lake is about 8km long. (surface 500ha)

Because of the mountains around, covered by pine trees it looks like a real mountain lake.

Here it’s possible to :

• Rent a pedal boat
• Sail
• Wind sail
• Water-ski
• Rent a motor boat

The Lake of Chaudanne

The lake of Chaudanne is downstream from the lake of Castillon. Its surface is 70ha; the dam is 72m high.

Because of the steep rock faces around the lake, water sports are impossible and not allowed.

Then again this beautiful lake is a paradise for fishermen.

The dams provide the area with electricity and make the irrigation of the agriculture possible. They also take care of the water level in the Verdon river as well as the Durance river in periods of heavy rain or drought.
