"Autour du temps qui passe"
Come and Discover the Heritage of the Moyen-Verdon via 19 Sundials!
The Community of the Commune of Moyen Verdon invites you to discover the region and its heritage, with the sun dials in the eighteen different communes. These “witnesses to the passing of time” evoke the richness of the area and convey a reflection conducted by the inhabitants on their heritage and their identity.
On each sundial you will see symbols of the customs and character of each locality. Close to each sundial there will be a board explaining the significance of each sundial in relation to the village.
Created in the course of the summer of 2007, these sun dials were created from a union between the inhabitants and the imagination of a team of 5 artists.
In total, there are 19 sundials to discover in the Verdon area, between Castellane and Saint André les Alpes, passing through Barrême and other less well-known villages, tucked away in Haute-Provence’s secret and authentic land.
This circuit can be done freely by car and can be enjoyed by children and adults equally.
To prepare your itinerary, between half a day and two days if you want to discover the entirety of the sundials, bring the downloadable and printable document below or contact the office of tourism to obtain more information.
Leave your watch behind, and follow the Sundial Route... In the passing of time...!
