Located on the Napoleon Road, 5 km away from Castellane towards Grasse and 20km away from the Verdon Canyon, this small village (80 inhabitants) still maintains its small town aspect of the Middle Ages, with its narrow streets and its central fountain. On the remains of an ancient castle of the XII from which it takes its name, was built the Church of Notre-Dame des Ormeaux. Its armorials are dating from 1117.
Some beautiful hiking trail via the GR4 starts from the village : the top of Teillon Moutain at 1894meters high, the Parrair waterfall & the trail towards La Bâtie through the Sebet Moutain.
A renowned restaurant and confectionery are also worth the visit for the gourmand.
Fishing and hunting are popular distractions in this quiet village. While being close to the French Riviera, the village enjoys the assets of the middle mountain and its temperate climate.
